Amino is No Longer on the App Store: Here's Why and What to Do
Can't find Amino on the App Store or Google Play Store? Amino has been removed and shut down. Learn why this happened and discover the best alternatives available now.
Amino is No Longer on the App Store
If you went looking for Amino and couldn't find it — you're not crazy. The app is gone.
Yes, it's been removed
Amino was pulled from the iOS App Store first and then Google Play. Existing installs may still launch on older devices but no new installs are available.
Why was it removed?
MediaLab, who acquired Amino in 2021, stopped maintaining it. The app was riddled with broken features, deprecated SDK versions, and unresolved policy violations from the storefronts.
Can I download Amino somewhere else?
Some third-party APK mirrors host older Amino builds. We don't recommend installing them — those builds are abandoned, communicate with retired servers, and won't have new content or other people on them.
What to use instead
Aminoka is a same-shape replacement: communities, profiles, polls, walls, leveling, public chats, leaderboards. See the 2025 replacement guide for a full comparison.
Aminoka: Built for Refugees of Amino
We built Aminoka because we were Amino users too. We saw what MediaLab did, watched the app we loved crumble, and decided to create something new — community first, not profits.
