Is Aminoka free?
Yes. Creating an account, creating a community, joining communities, posting and chatting are all free. There is no paid tier and no in-app purchases. Aminoka Coins — the points you collect from daily check-ins and the mini-games — are earn-only: there is no catalogue, no purchase endpoint and no way to buy them with money.
Is Aminoka made by the people who made Amino?
No. Aminoka is an independent app built by Aminoka Studio in Paris. It is not affiliated with Amino Apps or MediaLab, and it shares no code, servers or data with them. It was built by people who used Amino and wanted an app of that shape to exist again.
Can I import my old Amino community?
There is no import, because Amino never shipped an export. Nobody can migrate your members or posts for you, and anyone claiming otherwise is not being straight with you. What works in practice is rebuilding: create the community here, then bring your roster across through whatever channel you can still reach them on. Our migration guide has the announcement templates communities have used to do exactly that.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Aminoka runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or desktop, and it installs to your home screen as a progressive web app if you would rather it sat there like an app. That is how most people use it.
How old do I have to be?
Thirteen. Aminoka is not intended for children under 13, accounts found to be underage are removed, and accounts registered as minors have sensitive-content blurring locked on. Sexual content involving minors, grooming and related material are zero-tolerance and are referred to the relevant authorities — the details are in our Privacy Policy.
Who can see what I post?
Posts and public chat rooms are visible to the members of the community they live in. Your global account identity is deliberately not exposed inside a community: members see the persona you created there, addressed by an opaque community-scoped public ID that cannot be traced back to your account or matched against your persona somewhere else. Direct messages are between the people in them.
