The Amino community app is no longer on the App Store or Google Play: Amino ceased operations on 19 December 2025 and was delisted. Searching "Amino" now returns unrelated apps that share the name, such as AI calorie trackers and protein or supplement scanners. If you're looking for Amino's communities, chats and profiles, the closest replacement is Aminoka, free on iPhone, Android and the web.

You typed "Amino" into the App Store, expecting the purple app with your communities in it, and got a calorie tracker instead. You didn't misspell anything. The app you're looking for isn't there any more, and here's the short version of what happened and where everyone went.
Why the App Store shows calorie trackers for "Amino"
Amino, the community app, ceased operations on 19 December 2025 and was removed from both the App Store and Google Play. Store search doesn't leave an empty slot behind: it ranks whatever else matches the word. And "amino" is a very common word in health and fitness, because of amino acids.
So today the top results are things like AI calorie trackers, protein counters, supplement scanners and apps for memorising amino acids. Some even put "Amino" first in their name. They're legitimate apps, they just have nothing to do with communities, chats or your old profile.
| What you see | What it actually is |
|---|---|
| Amino: AI Calorie Tracker | A food and fitness tracker, unrelated to Amino communities |
| Protein Tracker, Amino | A protein intake counter |
| Supplement Scanner: Amino | A supplement ingredient checker |
| Amino acid study apps | Flashcards for biology students |
Don't sign in to lookalikes with your old Amino password
When a famous app disappears, its name attracts copycats. Nothing on the App Store today can check an old Amino email and password, so any app or website that asks for them is collecting them. If you reused that password elsewhere, change it there.
The app Amino communities moved to
Aminoka was built for exactly this search. It keeps the shape Amino communities were built on, so moving feels like coming home rather than starting over:
- Communities with leaders and curators, their own rules, roles and member titles.
- Live chatrooms with voice calls, stickers and GIFs.
- Walls with posts, polls and fan art, with comment threads underneath.
- Your profile with levels and aura, plus a separate persona in every community.
- OCs and character cards you can collect, with a free card pack every day.
It's free to join on iPhone, iPad and Android, and it also runs in any browser at aminoka.com with the same account.
How to find it on the App Store
- Open the App Store and search Aminoka (with a K, not "Amino").
- Look for the red app icon with a white A, by Aminoka.
- Install, sign in with Apple, Google or your email, and join or create your community.
On Android, do the same on Google Play. On a computer, just open aminoka.com. For the full story of the shutdown, see why Amino is no longer on the App Store and Amino's status in 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Is Amino still on the App Store?
No. The Amino community app was removed from the App Store and Google Play when Amino ceased operations on 19 December 2025. Apps you find today under the name "Amino" are unrelated products from other developers.
Why does searching Amino show calorie trackers?
"Amino" is a common word (as in amino acids), so once the community app was delisted, the App Store fills the results with other apps using that word: AI calorie trackers, protein trackers, supplement scanners and study apps. None of them are related to Amino communities.
Can I still download Amino on iPhone?
No new downloads are possible. If it's still in your purchase history you may be able to reinstall an old build, but it can't sign you in or load communities because the service behind it no longer runs.
What app replaced Amino?
No official successor was announced. Aminoka was built as a like-for-like replacement: communities with leaders and curators, chatrooms, walls with posts and polls, profiles with levels, and OCs. It's free on the App Store, Google Play and the web.
Is there an Amino app on Google Play?
No. The Android app was removed at the same time. As on iPhone, apps you find under that name now are unrelated.
