What roleplay is, in 60 seconds
Roleplay (RP) is collaborative storytelling. You play a character; your partner(s) play theirs; together you write a story turn-by-turn. The medium is usually text chat. It's the same instinct as tabletop D&D, just in chat form and usually freer-shaped.
The five-step starter
- Pick a fandom. Something you already love — easier than original-world to start.
